Legal & Ethics | The BreathBreak Method™

At The BreathBreak Method™, we hold healing as sacred. In order to protect the integrity of this work, and to ensure safety, clarity, and professionalism for all involved, we ask that each participant and visitor read and respect the
following policies.

1. Disclaimer & Scope of Practice
The BreathBreak Method™ is a trauma-informed, somatic breathwork and meditation program intended for educational and experiential purposes. While rooted in evidence-informed practices from neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatic theory, this program is not a substitute for licensed medical, psychological, or psychiatric care.
We encourage participants with complex trauma, physical health conditions, or mental health diagnoses to consult with their healthcare provider before engaging in any part of this program. Participation is voluntary and at your own discretion.

2. Health & Safety Waiver
By enrolling in The BreathBreak Method™, you acknowledge that you are emotionally and physically capable of engaging in breathwork, meditation, and group-based self-inquiry. You agree to take full responsibility for your own well-being throughout the training and release Deanna & Co., its affiliates, and facilitators from any liability for injuries or outcomes related to participation.

3. Intellectual Property Rights
All materials, language, techniques, sequences (including the BreathBreak Polyvagal Sequence™), meditations, and methods taught in The BreathBreak Method™ are the intellectual property of Deanna & Co. These may not be copied, taught, recorded, distributed, or altered without written consent.
Certification grants limited use of materials according to the level achieved. Only graduates of the BreathBreak Method™ Teacher Master’s Program may train or certify others in this methodology.

4. Confidentiality & Community Respect
Participants agree to maintain confidentiality regarding personal stories shared within training spaces. We uphold a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, harassment, or unethical behavior. Sacred space is built on trust, and we hold that with deep reverence.

5. Cell Phone & Recording Policy
All participants are required to turn off cell phones or place them on airplane mode upon entering the course space. No recordings may be made without express facilitator permission. If recordings are made for professional or archival use, full participant consent will be obtained in writing beforehand.

6. Meals & Dietary Considerations
For events where meals are included, we strive to accommodate common dietary needs. However, menus will be pre-set, and customization may not be possible. If you have dietary restrictions, you are welcome to bring your own food. No discounts will be offered based on food preferences or restrictions.

7. Refund & Transfer Policy
All course fees are 100% non-refundable upon registration. In the event of cancellation or withdrawal, your fee may be transferred to a future course within 18 months, subject to availability and approval. No-shows and late arrivals are not eligible for credit or refund.

8. Certification & Teaching Authority
Each level of training certifies participants to facilitate within the scope of that level (e.g., Level 1 for 1:1 guidance, Level 2 for group work, etc.). Completion of the Teacher Master’s Program is required to teach or certify others under The BreathBreak Method™ umbrella.

9. Accessibility & Grievance Policy
We are committed to creating inclusive and supportive spaces. If you have a request for accessibility, a concern about program content, or wish to submit a formal grievance, please contact us confidentially at info@DeannaByrne.com. All inquiries will be handled with care and discretion.

10. Terry Byrne Memorial Scholarship
This program honors the memory of Terrence David Byrne, a passionate advocate of natural healing and breathwork. The Terry Byrne Memorial Scholarship offers full or partial financial aid to individuals who are committed to service, especially those in health environments or trauma-centered communities or with lived experience of trauma.
